Set up your devices

About five minutes a device. You'll need the personal setup link we text you — one for each device. Rather we did it with you? Text us and we will.

iPhone & iPad

About 3 minutes
  1. On the iPhone you're setting up, open ronstechrepair.com/account in Safari, sign in with the code we email you, and tap Download the Ron's Tech Net profile.
  2. When it asks to download a configuration profile, tap Allow, then Close.
  3. Open Settings. Tap Profile Downloaded near the top (or General → VPN & Device Management).
  4. Tap Install, enter your passcode, and tap Install again. It's normal to see “Not Verified” — the profile is named Ron's Tech Net.
  5. That's it. Do the check at the bottom of this page.

Android

About 2 minutes
  1. Open Settings and search for Private DNS (usually under Network & internet or Connections → More connection settings).
  2. Choose Private DNS provider hostname.
  3. Copy the hostname shown for this device in My Tech Net and paste it in exactly. Tap Save.
  4. Do the check at the bottom of this page.

Windows laptop

About 5 minutes
  1. Open the setup link we texted or emailed you on the laptop, and download the small app it offers.
  2. Run the installer. When Windows asks whether to allow it to make changes, choose Yes.
  3. When the app asks for a code, enter the one from our message.
  4. Do the check at the bottom of this page.

Mac

About 5 minutes
  1. Open the setup link we sent you on the Mac, and download the app or profile it offers.
  2. Open the download and follow the prompts. Your Mac may ask for your password or ask you to allow it in System Settings.
  3. When asked for a code, enter the one from our message.
  4. Do the check at the bottom of this page.

Check it's working

30 seconds
  1. Open the check link from our text on the device you just set up.
  2. If it says the device is using Ron's Tech Net, you're done. If not, text us a screenshot and we'll sort it out.
  3. Your account page, My Tech Net, shows each device as Active on your plan once we've set it up.

Using a VPN on a device? Tell us before you start. When your VPN is on, it takes over and Tech Net’s filtering on that device pauses. Turn the VPN off to have Tech Net back. Setting up a phone your employer or school manages? Ask us first.
